Quarteto Carioca

Founded in 2022 by Daniel Williams, QUARTETO CARIOCA plays a range of songs from the contemporary Brazilian repertoire–samba jazz, bossa nova, Brazilian popular music, and other traditional genres such as baião with a contemporary influence.  With vocals sung in Portuguese and Brazilian percussion, the Quarteto introduces audiences to lesser-known songs from the Brazilian songbook by composers and performers as well as new takes on Brazilian classics.  Quarteto Carioca is led by keyboardist and vocalist Daniel Williams, who grew up in the Twin Cities and has been performing Brazilian music over two decades, with several trips to Brazil in between.

Featuring:

Daniel Williams - keyboards and vocals

Mac Santiago - drums and percussion

Anibal Soares - bass

John Croarkin - flutes and saxophones
