Baldwin, Harris, Hennig+

Jake Baldwin, Zacc Harris, and Pete Hennig form an adventurous ambient jazz and improvised trio that blends rich textures with boundary-pushing soundscapes. Originally coming together for a casual recording session in search of a bassist, the trio found creative freedom in the absence of one. Guitarist Zacc Harris employed heavy effects and looping to expand the harmonic palette, while drummer Pete Hennig crafted expansive, textural rhythms that set the stage for trumpeter Jake Baldwin’s soaring, virtuosic, and melodic lines.

Their spontaneous chemistry resulted in eight improvised tracks that traverse ambient moods and avant-garde exploration, culminating in their debut album Boundaries, released in 2024 on Shifting Paradigm Records. With each member bringing a unique sonic voice, the trio explores the possibilities of the jazz trio format through experimentation, atmosphere, and raw musical connection.
