OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Jazz Central Studios is dedicated to preserving the innovative jazz arts in the Twin Cities. We present live music to the community in a non-commercial listening environment and encourage collaboration and education among musicians of wide and varied experience.

Jazz Central Studios is a tax exempt 501c3 tax exempt organization EIN 45-3039080. JCS is committed to strengthening the Twin Cities jazz community by offering a performance/educational environment that nurtures artistic growth.

Founded in 2014 by Geoffrey West Senn (trumpet) and Mac Santiago (percussionist/drum set), the Twin Cites Latin Jazz Orchestra (TCLJO) brings together the drama of big band jazz, the rhythmic intensity of Latin music, and the virtuosity of eighteen of the Twin Cities’ most accomplished musicians.

The Bill Simenson Orchestra is a 17 piece big band (5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, guitar, piano, bass, and drums). Since June of 2012 the band has performed the first Tuesday of every month at Jazz Central Studios.

The Doug Haining Quintet is made up of some of the top musicians in the Twin Cities. The quintet’s library covers Mid-Century Classics through modern jazz and features arrangements by Doug Haining and Pete Enblom, among others.

This is the Real Big Band's 27th season. The 19-member band is made up of band directors and semi pros from southern Minnesota. The Real Big Band, established in 1998, has a full 5-5-4-4 instrumentation.

Jazz Central Studios is located in the Old St. Anthony neighborhood on the west bank of the Mississippi river. The main entrance is directly across the street from the Aveda Institute at the corner of 4th Street Southeast and Central Avenue Southeast.
